Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy explains how The Prudent Books ("we", "us"), a Chartered Accountancy practice in Gurugram, handles personal information in connection with this website, theprudentbooks.com. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
What we collect
This website has no forms and no sign-up. We only receive personal information that you choose to share with us when you:
- Call us: your phone number and anything you tell us on the call.
- Message us on WhatsApp: your WhatsApp number, name and the messages and documents you send.
- Email us: your email address and the contents of your email.
This may include business details such as your GSTIN, refund amounts and related documents, if you share them to get help with your GST refund.
How we use it
- To reply to you and assess whether we can help with your GST refund.
- To provide our professional services if you engage us.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations as Chartered Accountants.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except where needed to provide our services, where you ask us to, or where the law requires it.
Advertising and cookies
We advertise this website with Google Ads. To measure which ads lead people to call or message us, Google may place cookies (small files stored by your browser) when you visit this site from an ad, and may record actions such as tapping our Call or WhatsApp buttons. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy. We only see combined statistics, such as how many visitors tapped "Call Now". We cannot see who you are.
You can turn off personalised ads at Google My Ad Center, or block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
The page also stores a small note in your browser for the current visit so that the "Call Now" pop-up is not shown to you twice. This note is not sent to us.
Website hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub may record technical details of visits, such as your IP address, for security and to keep the service running. See GitHub's privacy statement.
WhatsApp and phone calls
When you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages also pass through WhatsApp (Meta), which handles them under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
If you do not engage us, we delete your enquiry details when they are no longer needed to respond to you. If you engage us, we keep client records for as long as our professional and legal obligations require.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- erase it, where we are not required by law to keep it;
- withdraw any consent you have given.
To make a request or raise a concern, contact us using the details below. We will respond as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
